Dream Analysis: What’s Your Message?

When you sleep, your thinking mind will rest, and your inner subconscious mind finally gets a chance to speak. When we set an intention to remember our dreams and write our dreams down we will remember them more and more. The imagery tends to become very vivid, leaving you with a feeling of deep knowing and reconnection. Have you ever woken up from a dream and said, “Well, that was interesting! I wonder what that means?” If it’s not totally clear, write the dream down. You’ll sometimes find aspects of a dream will play out in the physical world.

I usually have a hard time remembering my dreams. When I write them down my thinking mind is telling my subconscious…”I’m listening.” When I get a really vivid dream, the crazier the better, I can’t wait to take it through dream analysis. One of my favorites was hard for me to even write down so I knew it would work well with dream analysis. In the dream, I felt like I had murdered one or many people and put them in a small wooden box. I went to bury the box deep in the ocean and I hurried back to my family. It felt like I was covering up a crime and I didn’t want anybody to ever find that box. I received all kinds of wonderful insight and messages when I put this dream to analysis. It wasn’t at all what it seemed. Just to name one, the contents in the box was anything I was holding onto that isn’t serving me anymore. I was letting go of things and freeing up my mind and time to be healthier and more whole…no killing involved.

Dream analysis is one of my favorite tools in coaching. One client felt pulled to start writing a book, another received a message from a recently passed loved one, and a client who had reoccurring nightmares got a message to lighten up and enjoy life more. It’s a great way to unlock a truth or turn inside yourself and see what’s holding you back. It’s playful and fun and the scary dreams are never scary.
